Reliance Retail has acquired Pahadi Local from Pahadi Goodness Private Limited, adding another fast-growing homegrown brand to its beauty and wellness portfolio. While the financial details of the deal have not been disclosed, the acquisition reflects Reliance Retail’s larger strategy of strengthening its presence in the Indian beauty, personal care and wellness market through purpose-led brands with strong consumer appeal.

Founded in 2018, Pahadi Local has built a distinct identity in India’s skincare and wellness space with products inspired by Himalayan traditions and ingredients sourced from regions such as Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. 

The brand is especially known for its use of Gutti Ka Tel, or apricot kernel oil, which has gained attention for its skincare benefits. Its focus on clean formulations, careful sourcing and natural ingredients has helped it stand out in an increasingly competitive market.

The brand’s development has also been shaped by the vision of founder Jessica Jayne, whose leadership helped create a business rooted in authenticity, wellness and regional heritage. This founder-led identity has played an important role in building trust and relevance among modern consumers seeking simple and meaningful beauty products.
